Some first times stay with you forever. Hearing Syd Matters’ mesmerizing voice for the first time is one of them.
From End & Start Again, his debut single in 2003, Jonathan Morali’s warm, soulful voice and timeless melodies, as if hailing from another era, revealed an artist unlike any other. Four albums followed, each containing a host of unforgettable songs — Black & White Eyes, Obstacles, To All of You, and I Might Float — that left a lasting mark on an entire generation. We still remember powerful concerts where Morali and his band delivered performances that were at once epic and deeply
intimate.
Jonathan Morali then stepped back from the spotlight, yet remained remarkably prolific — composing for the stage, video games, and film, collaborating with Éric Rochant, Rémi Chayé, and Thomas Lilti. His work on the acclaimed series Life Is Strange, a global success, introduced his music to an entirely new audience.
After too long an absence, Syd Matters will make a long-awaited comeback on 17 November 2026 on the legendary stage of the Olympia in Paris. He will perform new songs — and others we know by heart and have not forgotten.
