The closing concert remains the highlight of the Paris Festival, a high-end and popular classical music festival. This year, cellist Gautier Capuçon, a leading figure on the French and international scene, will close the 2026 edition.
His latest album, Gaïa, conceived as a tribute to the natural world, reveals a sensitivity that runs through all his work. This concert is an opportunity to rediscover its atmosphere, between introspective moments and more expressive bursts. The program reflects a mix of genres in the purest tradition of L’Olympia Symphonique.
It navigates, for example, between Camille Saint-Saëns, Edith Piaf, Sergei Prokofiev, Jean-Jacques Goldman, and a few international pieces that have become emblematic, such as Over the Rainbow, Singin’ in the Rain, and the music from the film Schindler’s List.
Gautier Capuçon is accompanied by pianist Jérôme Ducros, his long-time musical partner, the Lamoureux Orchestra conducted by Lionel Bringuier, and the Île-de-France Children’s Choir. Together, they bring to life a program designed as a musical celebration, combining virtuosity, intensity, and poetry.
